D.C.’s SocialRadar acquires Baltimore’s Gridskippr

SocialRadar, the Washington, D.C.-based social location startup founded by ex-Blackboard CEO Michael Chasen, has acquired Baltimore-based Gridskippr, which tracks consumer dining, shopping, travel and banking preferences. The deal is focused on making the location management technology available to other app developers — for free — but then selling advanced feature licensing and more detailed reporting functions in the future.
